Camosun students finding their voice
SOLA is a student-led space for public speaking, responsible dialogue, creative talks, confidence, and helping each other be heard.
About the club
The Speaking Out Loud Association helps students practise speaking, test ideas, ask better questions, and build confidence in a supportive room. Members can bring class presentations, short talks, research topics, creative work, advocacy ideas, or anything they want to learn how to explain more clearly.
Learn when citations matter, how to support claims, and how to keep nuance alive.
Confidence builds through repetition, respect, and a room that wants you to succeed.
Try a short talk, rehearse a presentation, or prepare your ideas and questions for opportunities such as Victoria Forum 2026.
Community
SOLA is meant to encourage responsible dialogue. Members can practise speaking about real subjects without flattening people or issues into labels.
The club is shaped by its members. Meetings may include prepared talks, open-floor speaking, discussion, peer feedback, presentation practice, event planning, or public-dialogue exercises connected to real community issues.
Productions
SOLA productions can include student talks, public-speaking nights, event posters, club videos, audio projects, and member-led presentations.
This section will grow as members decide what the club should create, host, publish, or support.
